Myles Turner has found his name in trade rumors for several years. Ostensibly, he survived them, as the Pacers dealt Domantas Sabonis at this year’s NBA trade deadline.

At 26, Turner is young enough to be part of the Pacers’ rebuild. On the other hand, with promising youngsters like Jalen Smith and Isiah Jackson on the roster, the team may still have a logjam at center.

The Warriors may be happy to help them out with that. As currently constructed, they’re straddling two timelines. They’ve retained the dynastic core of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, but they also have a platoon of intriguing prospects on their bench.

This deal sees them consolidating some of those pieces. Turner gives the Warriors a player type they’ve never had during their run of success: a center who both spaces the floor and protects the rim.

Pairing Myles Turner with Draymond Green in the frontcourt should be a recipe for elite stopping power. If the Warriors don’t make a serious run for the championship this season, they may deem Turner a missing piece.

Meanwhile, this might be a no-brainer for the Pacers. Wiseman admittedly hasn’t lived up to his potential, but he’s only two seasons removed from being selected number two in the NBA draft. Kuminga has shown superstar upside during his rookie campaign: he may instantly become the centerpiece of the Pacers if this deal transpires.
