Derrick Rose has resurrected his career a bit with the New York Knicks in a sixth-man role.
The Knicks gave him a new three-year, $43.6 million deal after his performance in the playoffs last season. The contract was a bit of an overpay considering his age and injury history, but there were legitimate long-term concerns about it.
It is okay for the Knick to admit that his contract was a mistake and try and find a trade partner. In this case, Rose and a second-round pick would be going to the Clippers.
In return, the Knicks should be interested in young players that can help them fill holes on the court. In this case, Luke Kennard would give them a three-point threat that can play multiple positions.
