Washington Wizards Receive: C Kevin Love, G Collin Sexton (Sign & Trade), 2024 First-Round Pick (Top 5 Protected)
Cleveland Cavaliers receive: G Bradley Beal, F Anthony Gill
The Washington Wizards may favor established talent over the risk associated with accumulating draft picks. In that event, Collin Sexton may scratch their itch.
Heading into a contract year, Sexton would have to agree to a sign-and-trade to make this work. He may find that course of action desirable. After all, the Cleveland Cavaliers appear intent on moving forward with Garland as their lead guard. The Wizards may see an opportunity to transition Sexton directly into the role that Bradley Beal occupied.
He may be born for the role. Sexton sat most of 2021-22 out with an injury, but in 2020-21, he established himself as a certified bucket. That year, Sexton averaged 24.2 points per game on a 57.3 TS%.
He also happens to be 5 years younger than Beal. Swapping their more established scoring guard for Sexton and a first-round pick may allow the Washington Wizards to rebuild without bottoming out.

For a smaller market club, that’s often an immeasurable blessing. If Sexton can’t lead a competitive roster, that could be a blessing in disguise.
After all, the 2023 draft looks historically strong.
