Toronto Raptors Receive: G Donovan Mitchell
If the Toronto Raptors are unwilling to part with OG Anunoby, they’ll have to pay a surplus in draft capital if they want to land Donovan Mitchell.
Frankly, the Utah Jazz may prefer this package. OG Anunoby is a great foundational piece towards a rebuild, but the Jazz are woefully light on draft capital. This trade restacks that deck in their favor, while still landing them a nice young player in Trent Jr.
Speaking of Trent Jr.: the Raptors will almost have no choice but to deal him if they wish to acquire Mitchell. The only other players on their payroll with the earnings to make a deal work are Fred VanVleet and Pascal Siakam.
It’s hard to envision the Jazz swapping Mitchell for an older, less valuable undersized guard. It’s hard to envision the Raptors caring to acquire Mitchell if they’re parting with Siakam.

With such an immensely talented and mostly young core, the Toronto Raptors would give themselves a good shot to stay competitive through 2027. Even if that 2027 pick were to convey in the lottery, it may have proven worth the team’s while:
A core of Donovan Mitchell, Scottie Barnes, Pascal Siakam, and Fred VanVleet may be enough to bring a second championship to Canada.
