Will Dejounte Murray Be Good To Go?

Dejounte Murray has been nothing short of fantastic for San Antonio this season. In his fifth season, the 25-year-old became the San Antonio Spurs’ first All-Star since LaMarcus Aldridge in 2019.

The Spurs will go as far this postseason as Murray can take them – which may be an issue, after a recent tweet from Murray.

On Monday, Murray tweeted that he had come down with some sort of illness that impacted his weight and has kept him sidelined thus far in the month of April.

It will be devastating for the Spurs if Murray can’t get back to 100% in time for the Play-In, particularly with a match-up against the Pelicans looming.

The Spurs have won the three games in which Murray played well, and lost the one he didn’t in four matchups vs New Orleans this season. In three wins vs New Orleans, Murray has averaged 18.7 points, 11.7 assists, and 10 rebounds, as well as an average +/- of +10. In the lone loss, Murray put up 17 points on 39% shooting, and dished just five assists to go along with five turnovers.

Murray has blossomed into a star and X-Factor for the San Antonio Spurs this season. Their Play-In hopes may rest on whether he can get healthy in time for the postseason.
