Leverage Future Draft Picks To Prioritize Winning Now
Over the years, the Utah Jazz really have not found much success in the NBA Draft.
Trading for the rights to Donovan Mitchell in 2017 turned out to be a very good move for this franchise, but the only player the Jazz actually drafted that is still on their roster is Udoka Azubuike, who was drafted 27th overall in 2020.
Looking to be a championship contender and not getting help from any of the youth they bring in, the Jazz would be smart to try and move future draft picks to gain roster value right now.
Moving players like Juancho Hernangomez, Eric Paschall and/or Rudy Gay and attaching future first-round picks with them could ultimately land the Jazz another key weapon to utilize next to Jorsan Clarkson on their bench, similar to how they can utilize their trade exception.

Draft picks really do not do anything for a franchise looking to win a championship right now and Utah has quite a few tradeable draft picks heading into the offseason.
If the Utah Jazz truly want to be a championship contender against the likes of the Suns and Warriors in the Western Conference, they will need to sacrifice their future through the draft to be able to do so.
