These Teams Are Myles Turner Trade Suitors To Watch

Myles Turner, NBA Trade Rumors

The Indiana Pacers were one of the busiest teams ahead of the 2022 NBA Trade Deadline. They made numerous deals, accepting the reality of being a team that wasn’t going to make the postseason and needed a shake-up.

One of the players to survive beyond the deadline was center Myles Turner. The asking price for Turner was high, as Indiana was looking to get back at least two first-round picks or a young promising player and one first-round pick in exchange for him.

He was the most sought-after Pacer, but he didn’t end up getting moved. Domantas Sabonis, Caris LeVert, and Torrey Craig were all on the move instead. Had it not been for a foot injury clouding his return to the court this season, Turner would have likely joined them on the way out of Indiana.

This offseason will present the team with another chance to shop Turner. Given his skill set as an elite rim protector and capable 3-point shooter, there are plenty of teams that would still be interested. Any franchise that was unable to land a big man ahead of this year’s deadline could turn their attention to Turner again this offseason.

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Has Myles Turner Already Played Final Game With Indiana Pacers?

On a recent episode of The HoopsHype Podcast, Michael Scotto and Indiana Pacers beat writer Scott Agness discussed some rumors floating around the team and their offseason plans. According to Scotto, there are at least three teams still interested in acquiring Myles Turner; the Charlotte Hornets, Toronto Raptors, and Dallas Mavericks.

None of those three teams are surprising to hear. The Charlotte Hornets were looking for an upgrade in the middle ahead of the deadline and swung a deal for Montrezl Harrell. He is going to be a free agent at the end of the season, so the need in the middle will remain.

LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Has Myles Turner Already Played Final Game With Indiana Pacers?

The Toronto Raptors have found a lot of success this season playing without a true center for the most part. Precious Achiuwa and Pascal Siakam have been logging a lot of minutes there this season alongside Chris Boucher and Khem Birch.

The Dallas Mavericks traded Kristaps Porzingis away ahead of the deadline, which ultimately hasn’t hurt them. But, they could certainly use some help in the middle. Dwight Powell has been playing very well, but there is very little depth that Jason Kidd dips into behind him.

Between the Dallas Mavericks, Charlotte Hornets, and Toronto Raptors, they all make sense as a landing spot for Myles Turner. Depending on how things shake out in free agency, the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat are three more teams to keep an eye on as well.
