Charlotte Hornets Receive: C Myles Turner
Indiana Pacers Receive: G James Bouknight, F PJ Washington, C Mason Plumlee
In this offseason NBA trade scenario, the Indiana Pacers would part with Myles Turner in a deal with the Charlotte Hornets that would net James Bouknight, PJ Washington, and Mason Plumlee.
For the Hornets, making a move to add Turner would begin the offseason with a bang. Turner is the type of center upgrade the team sorely needs as they continue to add talent around LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges.
From a salary cap standpoint, the Hornets would clear just under $1.2M in salary cap obligations for the 2022-23 season. Charlotte would still need to give Miles Bridges a substantial contract extension and could benefit from moving Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, or Kelly Oubre in a separate deal.
The Hornets would need to get a long-term extension done with Turner after acquiring him. However, a new deal would not begin for him until 2023-24 given he still has another year remaining on his current contract.
