How This Trade Impacts Washington Wizards
The Washington Wizards are going to do everything they can to convince Bradley Beal to remain with the team for the long term. The trade for Kristaps Porzingis is an intriguing one, as he and Beal could be a strong offensive duo.
But, Washington isn’t close to competing for a title as Miami is. If Beal wants to win, the Miami Heat present a better chance of doing that than the Wizards do and he will decide to leave the nation’s capital.
Losing him in unrestricted free agency would be a huge blow for the Wizards, so getting anything back would be nice. Tyler Herro, even if this is his ceiling, would be a nice building block for the Wizards to have. He has good playmaking ability and is a bonafide scorer.
Duncan Robinson would provide the team with a good 3-point shooting option, something they are lacking. The Wizards are 26th in the NBA in 3-point shooting percentage this season thus far.

P.J. Tucker is a good veteran piece for a young team that could use some grit and toughness. He could very easily be flipped for more assets if the Wizards go into a rebuilding stage. What will really appeal to Washington, however, is the three first-round picks.
Any time a team enters a rebuild, picks are excellent assets to have. The Washington Wizards would have some flexibility to rebuild the roster with the young pieces they already have in place and all of the draft capital they would have coming their way in the future.
