The Indiana Pacers have had yet another down year and after being big “sellers” at the NBA trade deadline, it appears as a once championship contending franchise is heading in a new direction again.

Malcolm Brogdon’s long-term future with the Pacers will definitely be in doubt in the offseason, as will that of T.J. Warren, as the 28-year-old forward is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

Warren joined the Pacers ahead of the 2019-20 season after becoming a two-way threat in Phoenix and many tend to remember TJ Warren’s breakout performances for the Pacers in the NBA Bubble, where Warren was named the “Bubble MVP” after averaging 26.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 10 games down in Florida.

Entering the 2020-21 season, there were high expectations for T.J. Warren and the Pacers, but then Warren suffered a season-ending foot injury just four games into the year, an injury that has carried over to this season and will result in him not playing a single second on the court this season.

The Pacers recently ruled T.J. Warren out for the remainder of the 2021-22 season and now, not playing in a single game since December 2020, there will be plenty of question marks surrounding Warren’s future in this league.

T.J. Warren could go a similar route to that of Victor Oladipo, who signed a minimum deal with the Heat coming off another major quad injury last season, but he could also look to capitalize on any value still hovering around his name from the NBA Bubble.

Becoming an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, where T.J. Warren ends up going will be one of the biggest mysteries of free agency this upcoming offseason.

TJ Warren could re-sign with the Pacers, but he could also end up on a new team with new expectations.

Here are three teams who could take a chance on the versatile two-way forward.
