Charlotte Hornets Receive: C Rudy Gobert
Utah Jazz Receive: F Gordon Hayward, F P.J. Washington, F/C Kai Jones, Draft Capital
This trade between the Charlotte Hornets and Utah Jazz would certainly shake both teams up. It would be a sign of the changing of the guard in Utah, while the Hornets would be attempting to cement themselves as playoff contenders in the Eastern Conference.
In this deal, the Hornets are getting the best player in Rudy Gobert, who is a three-time All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year winner. He is the perfect fit for what the Hornets need as an upgrade in the middle.
Acquiring Gobert will not be cheap, however. The Jazz will be looking for some good pieces in return and the Hornets have some to spare. Gordon Hayward makes his return to Utah, as his contract is needed to match Gobert’s.
P.J. Washington and Kai Jones are two young frontcourt players that could be part of the next core for the Jazz. Washington is likely the odd man out for a Hornets team that is going to get a lot more expensive soon. Jones was a first-round pick in 2021 but hasn’t received consistent minutes.

Utah would ask for plenty of draft capital as well. Charlotte has a first-round pick they can offer any year through 2029. They have some second-round picks to sweeten the pot as well. One of each could be enough to get the Jazz interested.
