Making The Case For Keeping Julius Randle
At the end of the day, trading Julius Randle can only do so much for the Knicks.
The 2020-21 season was a major success story for a Knicks’ franchise that had hit “rock-bottom” in previous years and Randle was a large part of their success.
His numbers are down this year and he definitely has hurt the Knicks at times, but Julius Randle is not the main problem with New York right now.
Their lack of offensive firepower has directly correlated to Randle’s struggles on the offensive end of the court simply because he is having to put the franchise on his back and try to make every single play.

Derrick Rose has been injured a vast majority of the season, Kemba Walker did not work out as a key free-agent signing, Evan Fournier is really only a three-point shooting threat and Alec Burks is not an elite-level scorer on the wing.
RJ Barrett has the potential to be an All-Star, but almost all of the Knicks’ consistent offensive production has come from Julius Randle and RJ Barrett this season.
If the Knicks are to give up on Julius Randle right now, they will just throw themselves back down the rabbit hole that they tried so hard over the years to dig themselves out of.
