Dejounte Murray and the San Antonio Spurs (26-43) took on Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves (40-30) in part of the NBA Monday slate. It was the T-Wolves who came out on top with 149-139 being the final score.
Both teams had a hot scoring start to this one with each quarter through three featuring at least 30 points for each team. The Timberwolves took it to another level with multiple 40-point quarters with 46 in the third.
Karl-Anthony Towns made it easy for the Timberwolves to put up such big results on offense as he had 56 points through three quarters and totaled 60 overall on the night—setting a new franchise-record. He added 17 rebounds and three assists to go along with.
The Timberwolves also received double-figure scoring nights from Patrick Beverley (20), D’Angelo Russell (19), Jaylen Nowell (15), and Taurean Prince (13) while shooting 57.8 percent from the floor and 51.5 percent from 3-point range as a team.

The Spurs received 30-point nights from Keldon Johnson (34) and Dejounte Murray (30) while Lonnie Walker IV (22) and Jakob Poeltl (21) each crossed the 20-point threshold in addition.
The Timberwolves have been thriving since the NBA All-Star break and certainly took care of business against a Spurs team that is in the midst of a disappointing season.
Anthony Edwards’ continued progression in his development has been pivotal for the Timberwolves, but lately, he’s been playing through knee issues and is considered a game-time decision once again.
Dejounte Murray’s emergence as an All-Star has been a key source of optimism for the Spurs this season. Their focus remains on his development along with the rest of their young players.
