LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets (34-35) took on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder (20-48) in part of the NBA Monday slate. The Hornets came out on top 134-116 in this one.
Despite a 41-point first quarter from the Thunder, they ended up losing this game. The Hornets immediately answered back by outscoring Oklahoma City by a 13-point margin in the second quarter to hold a 65-64 halftime lead. Charlotte continued their momentum after the break.
The Charlotte Hornets received a combined 88 points from Terry Rozier (30), Miles Bridges (27), and LaMelo Ball (21) in this one with the team shooting 20-35 (57.1 percent) from beyond the arc.
Once again, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander did his best to lead the Thunder with 32 points, eight rebounds, and five assists. Oklahoma City even received 25 points from Darius Bazley. The team’s defense was nowhere near enough.

In their last outing, the Thunder lost 125-118 to the Memphis Grizzlies. It was their fifth consecutive loss with their last win coming against the Denver Nuggets on Mar. 2.
The Hornets looked to avoid a letdown loss vs the Oklahoma City Thunder. Charlotte has largely struggled as of late and now finds itself in the final play-in spot in the Eastern Conference.
