The LA Clippers (36-35) took on Darius Garland and the Cleveland Cavaliers (39-29) in part of the NBA Monday slate. It was the Cavs who came out on top in overtime with 120-111 being the final score.

Holding an 87-81 lead entering the fourth quarter, the Cavaliers failed to build on their advantage and ultimately allowed the game to go to overtime. With only nine players active, the Clippers did not have much left in the tank by the end of this game.

As Jarrett Allen remains sidelined, Evan Mobley scored a career-high 30 points in this one while Darius Garland chipped in 24 points and 13 assists to go along with. Mobley is now averaging 21.6 points and 10.8 rebounds when he starts at the center spot.

In their previous outing, the Clippers pulled off a second-half comeback against the Detroit Pistons to ultimately win 106-102. Morris Sr. led the way with 31 points with plenty of his teammates reaching double-figures.

The LA Clippers may or may not be without Paul George or Kawhi Leonard before this season comes to end, but they are going to be competitive and in the play-in mix regardless.

There’s been a slide from the Cleveland Cavaliers as of late amid all of their recent injuries. Cleveland has racked up recent losses to top Eastern Conference teams but if Mobley can continue to tap into another tier of performance, perhaps they can do some damage.
