2. Dave Joerger
When some people are brought up as retreads in coaching circles, they don’t generate much of a positive reaction. One person who could pique the interest of some within the New York Knicks organization is Dave Joerger.
Joerger did an excellent job as head coach with the Memphis Grizzlies from 2013-2016, making the postseason all three years and winning at least 50 regular season games twice. Following his dismal in 2016, he quickly latched on with the Sacramento Kings.
He didn’t find the same success with the Kings, but the team made steady improvements during his time on the sidelines. He was fired in 2019 despite leading the Kings to their most victories in a season since the 2005-06 season, which was the last time they made the postseason.
He took a year off before joining Doc Rivers’ staff with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2020. He is someone that the Knicks could have an interest in because he showed he can get the job done with an experienced team such as the Grizzlies and get the most out of a younger team, as he did with the Kings.

It would also weaken a coaching staff of a division rival taking Joerger off the 76ers and bringing him to the Big Apple.
