Every week the NBA recognizes two players that had some big performances with their Conference Player of the Week award. There were some incredible individual performances this week throughout the league, but two players reigned above the others.

In the Western Conference, Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks was named Player of the Week. In the Eastern Conference, it was Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets that was recognized.

Doncic helped lead the Mavericks to a record of 3-1 last week, pulling them within a half-game of the Utah Jazz, whom they defeated to kick the week off, for fourth place in the Western Conference. Doncic led the Mavericks in scoring all four games, averaging 30 per game with a high of 35 against the Jazz.

In addition to the 30 points, Doncic averaged 11 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. In addition to the Jazz, the Mavericks defeated the Houston Rockets and picked up a come from behind win over the Boston Celtics on Sunday afternoon.

Dallas did suffer a blowout loss to the New York Knicks in the middle of the week, as Doncic scored 31 of his team’s 77 points in the loss. Speaking of the Knicks, they had no answer for Durant in their Sunday afternoon matchup at the Barclays Center.

Durant poured in a season-high 53 points, scoring in every which way from anywhere on the court. He helped the Nets win all three of their games this week, picking up victories on the road against the Charlotte Hornets and in arguably the most anticipated regular-season matchup of the season when the Nets traveled to take on the Philadelphia 76ers.

Durant was excellent in all three, averaging 30.7 points per game to go along with 7.7 rebounds and 7.7 assists. He is carrying a huge load for the Nets, who are still without Kyrie Irving in home games and Ben Simmons has yet to make his debut this season.
