Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Lakers (29-38) took on Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns (54-14) in part of the NBA Sunday slate. The Suns handily won with 140-111 being the final score.

This Lakers vs Suns matchup got out of hand rather quickly. Phoenix managed to gain a 48-22 lead in the first quarter and the game legitimately never reached a point where Los Angeles had a chance to turn things around.

Devin Booker led the Suns with 30 points and 10 assists but had plenty of strong performance from their supporting cast. Deandre Ayton was pivotal with 23 points and 16 rebounds while Mikal Bridges chipped in 18 points and six rebounds of his own.

LeBron James had another strong individual performance with 31 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. The team even shot 16-40 (40.0 percent) from deep. However, totaling 19 turnovers proved costly and their execution on two-point field goals was nowhere near as effective enough.

Coming off a 122-109 win over the Washington Wizards, the Los Angeles Lakers received a staggering 50-point performance from LeBron James to carry them to the win.

The Phoenix Suns were on the other end of a big game in their last outing as they lost 117-112 to the Toronto Raptors with Gary Trent Jr. putting up 42 points with eight makes from beyond the arc.

There is a substantial cushion for the Phoenix Suns holding the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. However, maintaining strong momentum is something that’s important.

The Los Angeles Lakers need as many wins as they can get with how the season has gone for them. Getting a road win against the Suns could have gone a long way for their group, but instead, they were crushed.
