It’s clear there is a significant need to have highly efficient perimeter shooting alongside Fox and Sabonis to bring the best out of their skill-sets. A talent like Duncan Robinson would check a lot of boxes.
When Sabonis was at his best, he had the two-man game with Doug McDermott to lean on. Teams would have to decide between top-locking McDermott and allowing the cut or allowing McDermott to go over and risk getting burned by the shooter’s quick trigger.
The two-man game Robinson has shared with Bam Adebayo on the Miami Heat could be replicated with the Kings. There’d also be the option of using Robinson as a ghost screener with De’Aaron Fox and as a second screener in various actions like Spain pick-and-roll or double drag.
