Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons (18-49) took on Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics (41-27) in part of the NBA Friday slate. It was the C’s who finished on top with 114-103 being the final score.

There hasn’t been a team in the NBA better than the Celtics as of late after beginning the season 18-21. Led by the explosive scoring of Jayson Tatum and an elite defense, teams are having a difficult time handling them as a matchup. The Pistons were no exception.

Tatum led the way with a game-high 31 points with eight rebounds and six assists. Jaylen Brown (20) and Marcus Smart (20) each reached the 20-point threshold in this game, too. Boston managed to get the win despite shooting an abysmal 6-32 (18.8 percent) from deep.

The development of Cade Cunningham has been a key storyline for the Detroit Pistons and remains their utmost priority. He displayed promise once again with 27 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.

The Boston Celtics managed to continue to build momentum playing their brand of basketball. Boston will have an interesting test on Sunday when they take on Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks at TD Garden.
