3 Potential Landing Spots For Collin Sexton In Free Agency

The NBA offseason will be full of headlines and rumors related to free agency and one of the key free agents that nobody is talking about right now is Collin Sexton.

This is in large part because of the fact that Sexton is out for the season with a meniscus injury, but the young Cavaliers’ guard has proven to be a very efficient offensive weapon since entering the league.

Collin Sexton was drafted 8th overall in 2018 by the Cavaliers and since then, he has averaged 20.0 points, 3.3 assists and has shot 45.8% from the floor in Cleveland.

Set to be a restricted free agent in the offseason, the Cavaliers could possibly entertain the idea of bringing Sexton back, but it is looking more and more likely that they will let him sign elsewhere given that Darius Garland emerged as an All-Star without Sexton this season and because of the Cavaliers adding Caris LeVert at the trade deadline.

Cap-wise, the Cavaliers do not have much money to spend without being a tax-paying team, which is why there is a good chance that Collin Sexton could be going to a new team in the offseason.

Sexton’s market right now is a mystery though, as some teams may not show interest in him since he is coming off a season-ending knee injury

While this injury is not expected to have long-term negative effects on him, some teams are weary about targeting Collin Sexton for this reason.

Being just 23-years-old and still possessing a lot of potential for the future, Collin Sexton will enter the offseason as one of the better players, especially in terms of guards, available.

Should he not be returning to the Cavaliers, Collin Sexton could possibly find himself with one of these three teams.
