New York Knicks

It is not a secret that the Knicks need a point guard and with not many All-Star quality players being available this upcoming offseason, New York could very much turn their attention to Jalen Brunson.

Not only is he young enough for them to build with, but Brunson is a player that the Knicks showed interest in at the trade deadline and he has some connections to the Knicks organization.

Rick Brunson, Jalen’s father, played in New York for three seasons and he was one of the first clients of current Knicks’ president Leon Rose, who used to be one of the league’s biggest agents.

Rose and the Knicks’ front-office having interest in Jalen Brunson could very well be because of the connections his father has within the organization and also simply because of the type of player he is.

Coming from a Mavericks team that puts an emphasis on defense, Brunson would fit right in with a Tom Thibodeau coached team and he possesses the scoring mindset New York currently lacks in their backcourt.

It was not surprising to see the Knicks show interest in Jalen Brunson at the trade deadline this season and this interest is not expected to fade away.
