Jalen Brunson has also started in 46 of the 64 games he has played in this year for the Mavericks, marking the most starts in a season in his career.

While the Mavericks do intend on keeping Jalen Brunson on a new long-term deal, they will have a fair amount of competition when he officially becomes a free agent.
Both the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons are expected to show a level of interest in the 25-year-old guard and each team does have the capability to match any offer Dallas may give to Brunson.
After signing Dorian Finney-Smith to a four-year, $52 million extension, the Mavericks could have a tough time financially giving Jalen Brunson a similar or even higher paying contract, especially if they do not move Dwight Powell, Davis Bertans or Tim Hardaway Jr. in a trade this offseason.
