Julius Randle and the New York Knicks (28-39) took on Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies (46-22) in part of the Friday NBA slate. The Grizzlies came out on top with 118-114 being the final score.
Coming off an impressive blowout win over the Dallas Mavericks on the road, the Knicks looked to continue the momentum they’ve recently established over their last two games. For much of the game, they appeared to be doing precisely that.
However, the Knicks couldn’t hold onto their double-figure lead in the second half with Ja Morant leading the Grizzlies’ comeback efforts. Morant finished with an impressive 37 points and eight assists on the night.
Avoiding letdown performances against losing teams is a priority for the Grizzlies as they seek to maximize their outlook to finish with the second seed in the Western Conference. Memphis did just that in this one.
