Donovan Mitchell, Utah Jazz, NBA

The Portland Trail Blazers (25-40) took on Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz (41-24) in part of the Wednesday NBA slate. The Jazz coasted to an easy 123-85 win in this one.

It’s become absurd the number of key players the Trail Blazers currently have sidelined. Portland has been without Damian Lillard and after moving CJ McCollum, Norman Powell, and Robert Covington at the NBA trade deadline, they are shorthanded beyond belief.

Anfernee Simons has typically carried the shorthanded roster as well as he can but even then there’s been plenty of blowouts when he’s been in the lineup. Even he was sidelined.

The Jazz had a lot to play for coming off a loss to the Dallas Mavericks in their previous outing. Donovan Mitchell played poorly in his last outing but finished with a solid 16 points and six assists in 24 minutes.
