It has been a rough slide for the Warriors without Draymond Green in the lineup. The defense relies heavily on him and they do not have a way of replicating the lethal two-man game he shares with Stephen Curry in dribble handoffs and ball screen situations.
With Klay Thompson struggling to find his prior form, it’s been all the more challenging.
Without Kawhi Leonard and Paul George available often, the LA Clippers have still managed to post a winning record—a true testament to the coaching of Tyronn Lue.

Both teams posted sluggish results on offense to start the game with 21 points apiece, but a 33-15 advantage in the second quarter build a foundation for the Golden State Warriors that the LA Clippers simply couldn’t overcome.
On a night where Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson continued to struggle converting shots at a high clip, it was Jonathan Kuminga (21) and Jordan Poole (20) who were pivotal in the win.
Without a single 20-point scorer and just one player who reached the 15-point threshold, there just wasn’t nearly enough offensive execution to get a win. They shot 33-93 (35.5%) from the floor and 12-39 (30.8%) from beyond the arc as a team.

The Clippers aim to compete against one of the better teams in the Western Conference despite being short-handed at the top of the roster. There just wasn’t enough for this matchup.
