Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics (40-27) took on LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets (32-35) in part of the NBA Wednesday slate. The C’s came out on top with 115-101 being the final score.

The Celtics were coming off a thrilling 54-point performance from Jayson Tatum leading them to a win over Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.

Tatum followed up his impressive performance with another as he dropped 44 points on the Hornets.

Boston has been arguably the hottest team in the NBA as of late with their elite defensive execution and having Tatum as a closer. The Celtics have gone 17-3 in their last 20 games.

In speaking of defensive execution, it has been a struggle for the Hornets to get stops and they allowed Kyrie Irving to drop an insanely efficient 50-point performance in their last game. It was no different in this one with Tatum, this time, being the star to rip their defense apart.

None of the Hornets’ players managed to reach 20 points in this game and the team as a whole finished 8-32 (25.0%) from beyond the arc. Charlotte is now 4-13 in their last 17 games.

The Celtics are looking to overtake the Chicago Bulls for fourth in the Eastern Conference standings. Boston will need to keep getting wins to make it happen.
