NBA Injury News: Cavs Dealt Major Blow With Jarrett Allen Update

The Cleveland Cavaliers took down the Toronto Raptors in their 104-94 win on Sunday, but they lost NBA All-Star Jarrett Allen for the foreseeable future. He left the game early after just 10 minutes of action, but now, there’s a more substantial update about his injury.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Allen suffered a broken finger and will be sidelined indefinitely as a result. Charania later added that Allen got kneed in the quad in addition, but for the finger, he will undergo further evaluation soon.

“Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star center Jarrett Allen has suffered a fractured finger and is expected to be sidelined indefinitely, sources tell The Athletic.”

With Jarrett Allen sidelined, the Cavaliers deployed Evan Mobley at the center position and he delivered in a major way. He racked up 20 points, 17 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in 36 minutes.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will rely on Evan Mobley to continue to play at a high-level while Jarrett Allen recovers from his broken finger. Between the season-ending injuries to Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio (who was later traded), it’s been a tough season for the Cavs in the injury department.
