Chicago Bulls: 39-24, 2nd Place In Eastern Conference
QUESTION: “Will injuries catch up to Chicago?”
DeMar DeRozan deserves to be in the MVP conversation this season for what he has done for the Chicago Bulls. Breaking records set by Wilt Chamberlain and being named in the same sentence as Michael Jordan is usually a good sign and DeRozan has done both of these things this season.
With Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic by his side, the Bulls have three capable All-Star talents on the offensive end of the floor that will lead them into the postseason.
The problem with the Bulls right now though is their overall depth, specifically in regards to the injuries that they have had to deal with this season.
Not only is there some concern with Zach LaVine’s knee, but Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso and Patrick Williams are all out right now and have been for quite some time.

There is a chance that Williams could return by the end of the season, giving the Bulls a big boost defensively on the wing, but Ball and Caruso both remain big questions after undergoing surgery for a knee injury and a wrist injury, respectively.
Ayo Dosunmu, Javonte Green, and Derrick Jones Jr. have stepped up off the bench this season in the absence of the Bulls’ key talents, but can they really be counted on for production in the playoffs?

In order to contend for a championship, the Bulls will not just need their three All-Stars healthy and on the floor offensively, but it is essential that they have their secondary talents in Patrick Williams, Lonzo Ball, and Alex Caruso for a big boost defensively.
Right now, they do not have any of their three defensive-stoppers, which makes picking the Bulls to win the Eastern Conference very questionable, despite the fact that they are one of the best offensive teams in the league.
