The Los Angeles Lakers are in the midst of a disappointing 2021-22 NBA season after holding high hopes of title contention. While LeBron James has continued to be an elite player, there’s been clear decline from Russell Westbrook coupled with being a poor fit.
Perhaps one of the most important factors that has hurt the Lakers has been Anthony Davis’ struggles to stay available to play games. He’s expected to miss most of the remaining portion of the regular season as the team struggles to stay afloat in the play-in seeding.

According to Adam Taylor of Heavy, an anonymous NBA executive feels the Lakers “would have to consider” a trade package where the team packages Talen Horton-Tucker and Davis for Jaylen Brown
“Put AD in a deal with Horton-Tucker for Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Aaron Nesmith? The Lakers would have to consider that. I’d take it,” said the executive, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

The main rationale behind the idea of trading for Anthony Davis from the Boston Celtics’ perspective would be if they feel as though they have a real chance to acquire Jayson Tatum’s friend Bradley Beal, who could end up deciding he wants out from the Washington Wizards.
In the meantime, Jaylen Brown means too much to what the Celtics have built to trade him for Davis, who is set to turn 29-years-old this month. Having two dynamic wings with one, Brown, embracing guarding the opposing teams’ top perimeter threat on a nightly basis is a foundation to build on, not to break up.
