#1 Chris Paul – Phoenix Suns

Between being a facilitator, playmaker, and clutch performer, Chris Paul checks off every single box for what teams look for in their point guard. Arguably the best leader in the NBA right now, Paul has been having a sensational 2021-22 season and has the Suns at the top of the NBA world, vying for another chance at winning a title.

While he is currently out due to an avulsion fracture in his right thumb and could very well miss the rest of the regular season, Chris Paul has done enough this season for him to sit at the top of this list.

In 58 games for the Suns this year, Paul is only averaging 14.9 points, the lowest of his career, but he is averaging a league-leading 10.7 assists per game. Not to mention, Chris Paul is averaging about 1.9 steals per game and is shooting 48.7% from the floor.

One of the most clutch shooters in the league, Chris Paul is a master of the mid-range and is able to get to his spots on the floor with ease. For 17 seasons now, Paul has been picking apart opposing defenses and nobody has seemed to come up with a game-plan to stop him.

He may not be the biggest nor the strongest point guard in the league and he is certainly not the best scoring guard in the league compared to the likes of Steph Curry and Luka Doncic, but Chris Paul’s consistency is unmatched by anyone else in the NBA.

The Suns know what they are getting with their veteran leader each and every night, which is why Chris Paul is the best point guard in the league right now. The difference Chris Paul makes on the floor for the Suns versus off-the-floor truly is remarkable and the way he is able to elevate everyone’s play around him truly is master-class.
