Would this trade make sense for the New Orleans Pelicans?

If the New Orleans Pelicans were to look to move on from Zion Williamson, it would be a solid option to pursue a talent like Jalen Green. The 20-year-old guard may have underwhelmed in the dunk contest at NBA All-Star Weekend, but his potential as a player is quite impressive.

Since being selected No. 2 overall during the 2021 NBA Draft, Green has struggled to score at an efficient clip. However, it was expected that he may require some time to develop into being a consistently efficient threat putting up a high volume of points.

Green has shown some intriguing flashes in the month of February with averages of 16.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists while raising his scoring efficiency. He’s been shooting 40.0% on pull-ups from beyond the arc while threading catch-and-shoot looks at a high clip, too.

For Green, he could benefit playing alongside talents like Jonas Valanciunas given the spacing he provides as a stretch-five and also his presence as a screener in pick-and-roll situations. His athleticism getting to the rim would be maximized, to say the least.
