3. Shaedon Sharpe, G, Kentucky

The Indiana Pacers’ own selection will more than likely end up in the lottery and near the top of it. How high that pick goes will be determined by how the ping pong balls fall. Right now, they could land as low as the eighth pick in the first round.

Given the wide range of possibilities, the Pacers will be doing a lot of scouting in the coming weeks. One player that they could consider taking a chance on is Shaedon Sharpe of Kentucky.

Sharpe isn’t playing with the Wildcats this season, but he reclassified so that he is eligible for the 2022 NBA Draft. There is a chance he returns to Kentucky to play for one season, but as of now, he is included in mock drafts and is someone that could intrigue the Pacers.

Knowing they have a second first-round pick, the Pacers have the luxury of swinging big on a player such as Sharpe. He will be without game experience for over a year, but he has tantalizing tools that scouts will love.

Standing between 6’5”-6’6”, Sharpe is a very athletic, high-motor athlete. He plays with a lot of energy, he should be able to carve out a role in the early going as develops the rest of his skill set. His length already makes him a strong defender, another thing that will get him on the court from the jump.

If the Indiana Pacers fall to the middle or back half of the lottery, Sharpe is someone that will be on their radar.
