Phoenix Suns

As mentioned before, the Phoenix Suns are currently the top team in the league, as they hold an NBA-best 48-10 record entering the All-Star break, 6.5 games in front of the Golden State Warriors for the top-seed in the league.

Not enough good things can be said about what the Suns are doing this season and while many could have predicted that they were once again going to be a top team in this league, what they have done this season is extremely impressive.

The Suns have lost no more than two games in a row this season, they are the only team to rank inside the top-5 in both offensive and defensive rating on the season, and they have lost just two games since the start of 2022.

Monty Williams has to be the clear-cut favorite to win Coach of the Year this season, after many thought he was snubbed last year, and it really is not crazy to consider putting Chris Paul in the MVP conversation either.

While he is only averaging 14.9 points per game, the fewest of his career, Chris Paul is averaging a league-high 10.7 assists per game, 1.9 steals (T-2 in the NBA) and has shot 48.7% from the floor. The epitome of consistency, Chris Paul is the best point guard in the league right now and has recorded an extremely impressive 4.5 assist-to-turnover ratio this season.

The veteran point guard has also recorded 31 double-doubles on the season, ranking him tied for 6th in the league. Not only do the Suns hold the best record in the league because of Paul’s leadership, but they have a chance to set a new franchise-record for wins in a single season, which currently sits at 62 wins during the 1992-93 and 2004-05 seasons.

Chris Paul is the best facilitator and leader in the NBA, Devin Booker is one of the most talented scorers in the league, Deandre Ayton has turned himself into a Top-10, possibly Top-5 center in this league when healthy, Mikal Bridges is one of the best overall defenders in the league and the list goes on-and-on about how good this Phoenix Suns team really is.

The Golden State Warriors are the only team in the league this season to have beaten the Suns twice, but it is hard to imagine that anyone will be able to win four out of seven games against this team come time for the playoffs.

The Suns have everything they need to get back to the NBA Finals and they finally have the right amount of depth they need to win their first title in franchise history.
