New York Knicks

The 2021-22 season has been a complete disaster for the New York Knicks, as they are a worse defensive team than they were a season ago and still have no consistent offensive production, but they are still in striking distance of making the play-in tournament and salvaging their season.

Currently 25-34, the Knicks sit 3.5 games behind the Atlanta Hawks for the 10-seed in the Eastern Conference and they are currently 2 games back from the Wizards for 11th place.

It is not going to be easy for the Knicks to turn things around and they will need some help from other teams along the way, but New York is still alive and in the hunt for a play-in tournament spot this season.

This still does not however mask the fact that this season has been a complete disappointment for them, especially after being the 4-seed in the playoffs last year.

The Knicks are worse defensively this season compared to last season, even though they have basically the same roster, and their offense still is lacking firepower.

Julius Randle has stepped up in recent weeks, but this is only because he has had to with Derrick Rose and RJ Barrett being out of the lineup due to injuries.

Assuming both Rose and Randle can return to the court, the Knicks are still alive in regards to the playoff picture, but they have a lot to figure out in the offseason, as they are still far from being a true title contender.
