Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons have been rebuilding for quite some time now, but they finally have a lot of young, high-level talents in-place on their roster.

Isaiah Stewart and Saddiq Bey have turned themselves into key secondary weapons for this team, Cade Cunningham is the young leader being this past year’s No. 1 overall pick and Jerami Grant has turned himself into one of the better two-way combo-forwards in the league since joining the Pistons last season.

Continuing to add young, dynamic talents to their roster is a must for the Pistons, which is why they are rumored to have interest in adding Mitchell Robinson aside Isaiah Stewart in the frontcourt.

According to SNY’s Ian Begley, the Pistons are among the teams who have had a “degree of interest” in Mitchell Robinson. Detroit also reached out to the Knicks ahead of the trade deadline and inquired about Robinson’s availability, a source told NBA Analysis prior to the trade deadline a week ago.

How a frontcourt of Robinson and Stewart would work in Detroit is questionable, but Mitchell Robinson has proven to be a force in the low-post/paint, as he led the league in field goal percentage during the 2019-20 season.

The Pistons are projected to have a lot of cap space heading into the offseason, which could lead them to being able to give Mitchell Robinson a better deal than the Knicks can.
