Tomas Satoransky

Tomas Satoransky was traded twice ahead of the NBA trade deadline. He was traded from the New Orleans Pelicans to the Portland Trail Blazers as part of the CJ McCollum deal. After that, he was traded from the Trail Blazers to the San Antonio Spurs in a three-team deal that also involved the Utah Jazz.

Satoransky is likely to have the same outcome that Goran Dragic is with the Spurs as a player that will be bought out. Finding a landing spot for Satoransky, however, is not as easy.

Contending teams may not line up for him as quickly as other veterans that could be available. Satoransky would be a solid depth addition for those teams, as he can play either backcourt spot standing 6’7”. He has made 36 percent of his 3-pointers in his career as well, providing some floor spacing in addition to the playmaking he brings to the table.

Given his versatility, a team that needs help at multiple spots, such as the Los Angeles Lakers, could make for a good landing spot. Los Angeles didn’t make a trade ahead of the deadline despite needing some help for the stretch run.
