3 Intriguing Buyout Targets For Bulls To Monitor

The 2021-22 Chicago Bulls are a special team and like some other powerful teams in the Eastern Conference this season, they have three NBA All-Stars leading the charge.

Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic and DeMar DeRozan have been one of the best trios in the entire league this season, leading the Bulls to a 37-21 record to this point in the season, just 0.5 games back from the Miami Heat for the 1-seed in the Eastern Conference.

For years, the Bulls have been “rebuilding” in a way and have never been able to find consistency outside anyone but Zach LaVine. So, management went out and added Vucevic at the trade deadline last season and then in the offseason, they not only added DeRozan, but Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso as well.

Up-and-down the Bulls roster, they have versatile scorers and two-way threats that can lead them deep into the playoffs, but injuries are starting to become a concern for this franchise.

LATEST NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Can DeMar DeRozan Keep Bulls Afloat Amid Bulls’ Injury Concerns?

Patrick Williams has been out since October with a wrist injury, Lonzo Ball recently underwent surgery on his left knee to repair a partially torn meniscus and Alex Caruso is out indefinitely after suffering a fractured right wrist.

On top of everything else, All-Star Zach LaVine has been dealing with left knee discomfort and recently saw a knee specialist out in Los Angeles, the same one that performed his ACL surgery in 2017.

While LaVine has stated that he is alright and the Bulls are not expecting him to be sidelined at all, there is a slight amount of concern long-term about what this knee ailment could grow into.

LATEST NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Can DeMar DeRozan Keep Bulls Afloat Amid Bulls’ Injury Concerns?

Overall, the Bulls have a very talented roster already, but injuries could ultimately be their downfall late in the season, which is why they are expected to pursue more talent in the buyout market.

One of these three players could very well be a main target for the Bulls at the buyout market this season.
