The NBA trade deadline has come and passed, creating a clearer picture for who this year’s championship contenders are. With the All-Star Game next weekend, time is running out for team’s to not only make the playoffs, but solidify themselves in the standings amongst other teams with winning a title on their mind.
Highlighting trade deadline day was James Harden being on the move from the Brooklyn Nets to the Philadelphia 76ers just over a year requesting a trade for the Houston Rockets to Brooklyn.
In this trade that was first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the 76ers received former league MVP James Harden and Paul Millsap from the Nets in exchange for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first-round picks.
Who made out better in this deal depends on who you ask, but one of these teams really took a big step forward in their efforts to win a championship this season. More on them shortly!

Not many significant trades were made this season only because the writing was on the wall for a lot of these moves. Caris LeVert, Domantas Sabonis and CJ McCollum were not necessarily “expected” to be on the move, but there was a high chance of each of these high-level talents being moved.
The trade deadline has set a lot of teams up for success leading up to the playoffs, but these three teams are best positioned to make a title run following the deadline.
