5. Marvin Bagley III
The trade deadline offers players a chance to have a fresh start. Sometimes, that is something that is needed to help get someone back on track. For Marvin Bagley III, he finally gets his chance.
Bagley was traded by the Sacramento Kings to the Detroit Pistons as part of a four-team deal that also included the LA Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks. It is the change of scenery he has been waiting months for as things did not work in Sacramento.
It isn’t Bagley’s fault that he was selected ahead of Luka Doncic, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Trae Young, but it is something that will follow him throughout his career.
Living up to the lofty expectations of being the No. 2 overall pick is tough enough, but it is even more difficult when the next three players are at the level of those three.

In Detroit, Bagley should receive plenty of opportunities to develop. They are a franchise that is rebuilding and will have no problem allowing Bagley to play through some growing pains. Detroit is hoping this is the next example of a player who flames out on the team that drafted him to start realizing his potential with a new franchise.
