Best Moves From Around League At NBA Trade Deadline

The 2022 NBA trade deadline was a pretty wild one. All in all, there were 10 trades completed on February 10th and numerous more were agreed to in the days leading up to the deadline by teams that were aggressive and got ahead of the game.

Over half of the teams in the NBA completed a trade on Thursday and in the week leading up to the deadline. It was surprising to see some of the teams that stayed put, but it takes two to tango. Just because a team has players they are looking to move or needs on the roster to upgrade, a deal doesn’t always come together.

The Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks would fall into that category. Both teams tried hard to shape up their rosters, but couldn’t find a deal. The two reportedly were working on a deal heading into Thursday but ultimately things fell apart.

The San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics, Washington Wizards and Portland Trail Blazers all were involved in three trades in the week leading up to and on deadline day, tied for most in the league.

While there were a bunch of smaller trades that occurred to help teams move around money and get below the luxury tax, numerous All-Stars and former All-Stars were on the move. All in all six All-Stars were moved a few other fringe and future All-Stars got traded as well.
