There’s been a lot of action already ahead of the NBA trade deadline. While Wednesday ended up being a largely quiet day, Tuesday featured names like Domantas Sabonis, CJ McCollum, Tyrese Haliburton, and Caris LeVert being dealt to new teams.
There is a feeling of the Eastern Conference being as open as its been in many years with prime LeBron James no longer being at the helm. Teams looking to capitalize on their chance to breakthrough the crowded competition could look to add that ‘missing piece’ they view as a difference-maker.
The superstar trio of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden was supposed to run the Eastern Conference but injuries and vaccine mandates have put a real damper on those plans.
Meanwhile, the Western Conference is quite open, too. The LA Clippers are always rightfully viewed as a title threat with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George but both are sidelined. Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have both Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. out. There’s real opportunity here.
