Would this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
It might seem a bit surprising that the Indiana Pacers may be looking to trade Domantas Sabonis. When looking at the financial side of it, it comes as less of a surprise. This is a move so that the organization can completely start from scratch.
Indiana is in a position where they have a chance to unload their big names while acquiring assets, whether they be long-term or not.
The Pacers could be looking for expiring contracts that they can use in other deals or a salary dumps. This one open up things and allow the team to rebuild anywhere they want.
This can be done in the draft of free agency in the upcoming years. Indiana still has one of the best front offices in the league and they will know how to work it out.

With that being said, this is not a short process if Sabonis is. If he is on the roster, there is at least a centerpiece to build around but that would be gone. This is a long for a team that is used to competing in the postseason.
