Alec Burks, Kemba Walker available in trade talks, Knicks need another scorer
The Pelicans ending up with CJ McCollum was a big loss for the New York Knicks, who had been in contact with Portland on multiple occasions over the weekend inquiring about a potential McCollum trade.
Right now, the 24-30 Knicks are really struggling to find any consistency from their roster outside of Julius Randle and RJ Barrett, which is why they have a huge need for another impactful scorer.
CJ McCollum would have filled numerous holes in the backcourt for the Knicks, but now they have to turn their attention elsewhere. De’Aaron Fox had also been on the Knicks’ radar in recent weeks, but with the Kings recently trading away Tyrese Haliburton and forming a strong duo of Fox/Sabonis, it is hard to imagine that they will be willing to talk trades with New York centered around their star point guard.
The Knicks remain engaged in trade talks throughout the league and Pistons’ forward Jerami Grant could very well be the next player in-line on the Knicks’ trade deadline list.

New York has been mentioned as a team to have shown interest in trading for Grant this season and the Pistons still seem like they are uncertain about whether or not they will trade the 27-year-old forward.
According to Ian Begley of SNY.com, the Pistons have expressed interest in Knicks’ big man Mitchell Robinson, as he would fit the team’s “desire” to find players on the “same timeline” as Cade Cunningham.
A trade centered around Robinson and others could be enough for the Pistons to relinquish Jerami Grant ahead of Thursday.
Both Kemba Walker and Alec Burks have been made available by the Knicks and while they have not actively looked to trade him, many around the league believe that they would be willing to trade Evan Fournier to upgrade their overall roster talent.

The New York Knicks are in a tough spot as a franchise right now and with CJ McCollum and presumably De’Aaron Fox off the trade block, the Knicks are not left with many options to improve before the trade deadline.
