The Miami Heat have been among the best teams in the NBA throughout the season. They look like legitimate contenders in the Eastern Conference and a team that could make some noise come playoff time.
The Heat have one of the best in the business in Erik Spoelstra leading the way and have a roster built to fit the culture of the franchise perfectly. They get the job done on both ends of the court, but they could be in a position to upgrade the roster ahead of the deadline.
That will be easier said than done, as Miami is lacking many assets to build a trade package with. Alas, everyone knows that if anyone can make something out of nothing, it is Pat Riley. He will go all-in on a deal if he believes it will get the team closer to winning an NBA title.
No one would fault Miami for staying pat at the NBA trade deadline, as they have a very good team. However, staying pay isn’t normally Riley’s play. Expect the Heat to make a deal of some magnitude before the trade deadline on February 10th.
