The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics are longtime rivals. From Bill Russell and Jerry West, to Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, to Paul Pierce and Kobe Bryant. The rivalry goes back decades worth of NBA history, and according to fans, it’s still alive today.
However, the two teams actually have one thing in common this season – they’re struggling. Both teams came into the season with high expectations but now find themselves competing for the play-in tournament instead of the actual playoffs.
Los Angeles has dealt with injuries all year, but they should still be better than they currently are. Russell Westbrook hadn’t panned out for them, Anthony Davis and LeBron James have both missed time, and their defense has been extremely disappointing.
