The Boston Celtics have widely been expected to part with Dennis Schroder ahead of the NBA trade deadline. He remains on the roster but talks with teams remain ongoing.

According to Matt Moore of Action Network, the Boston Celtics remain focused on clearing spending obligations to save on luxury tax payments. Amid those efforts, they have ‘two offers on the table’ for Dennis Schroder—coming from the Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls.

The Boston Celtics’ priority, according to multiple sources, is to clear salary to save on the luxury tax. There are two offers on the table for Dennis Schröder according to multiple sources, one from the Milwaukee Bucks and another from the Chicago Bulls.

Neither of these two teams appear to be in dire need of a point guard despite dealing with injuries, but could use another option on the roster if a favorable one were to be attainable. Perhaps those efforts aren’t all that strong in value given neither either has been accepted and finalized with the NBA office.

The Chicago Bulls face Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso recovering from injuries at the moment, but still have Ayo Dosunmu and Coby White to spend time at point guard. If the Bulls want a more established veteran option then it could make sense to pursue Schroder.

There has been recent reporting linking the Bulls as a potential trade suitor for Schroder—initially by Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer. He reported a framework consisting of Troy Brown Jr. and a second-round pick has been discussed for Schroder.

As for the Milwaukee Bucks, they already have Jrue Holiday and George Hill in the fold for the point guard position. The main concern with Schroder would be his fit with the rest of the roster. He can get to the rim in a hurry but he lacks much for shot creation out in space, something Milwaukee needs.
