The main drawback to trading Russell is that Minnesota would lose some three-point shooting. However, what they would lose in shooting they would gain back in defensive prowess and playmaking ability.
Simmons would be able to run Minnesota’s offense to a tee. His entire career he’s had Joel Embiid clogging the paint. With Towns being a premiere perimeter threat, Simmons would have all the room in the world to work on the inside.
