With less than a week until the 2022 NBA trade deadline, rumors are beginning to heat up around the league. With very few teams projected to have cap space this offseason, the deadline will present an opportunity for teams to add talent to their roster that they will not be able to in free agency.

The NBA’s decision to have a Play-In Tournament has made more teams feel like they could make a run at the postseason, but some teams have emerged as clear-cut sellers. Two teams that are toeing the line are the New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings.

The Knicks have failed to replicate the success they had from the 2020-21 season when they earned the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference. The Kings are desperate to snap a 15-year playoff drought, which is tied for the longest in NBA history.

Both teams require a shake-up, could they come together on a deal to aid one another? There have been some reports, which Brian Windhorst confirmed, that New York has some interest in Kings’ point guard De’Aaron Fox. He added that Julius Randle would make a lot of sense as the centerpiece of a deal heading back to Sacramento.

This would be a big trade for both teams, as Randle was an All-Star and All-NBA Second Team member last season. Fox averaged a career-high 25.2 points with 7.2 assists per game last season.

What could a swap of the best players on the Knicks and Kings look like? Let’s take a look at this hypothetical deal between the teams.
