Does this trade make sense for the Indiana Pacers?
With the Indiana Pacers on the verge of a rebuild, Caris LeVert would probably be the first player to be traded because of the fact that he is expendable. Indiana acquired LeVert last season and while he has played well for them on the wing, they have Justin Holiday, Chris Duarte, and T.J. Warren, who is close to returning from injury.
They have guys to replace LeVert’s production and his three-point shooting woes have limited what this team can do with him on the floor. The three-point shot is such a big part of a team’s game plans in today’s NBA and naturally, most shooting guards and small-forwards can make multiple three-point shots a game.
This is not the case with LeVert, whereas it is the case with the guys who would replace him. Holiday and Duarte would obviously see their minutes increase, but Dylan Windler (38.9 3P%) would be big additions on the wing for this team, especially since he is a young talent.
Not only can he score from the perimeter, but Windler would give the Pacers some more young depth to play around with in rotations next to Brogdon and Sabonis.

Taking on Ricky Rubio’s contract is not something Indiana would like to do, but they might as well since they are not in a position to win this season. Dylan Windler, a 2023 first-round pick and a future second-round pick is not a bad trade off for Caris LeVert if the Pacers are still interested in moving him.
